Arverne Nature Preserve
Spring Planting

Sunday, April 26
10am - 1pm
1-90 Beach 44th Street
Far Rockaway, NY
Free

Join the American Littoral Society for a volunteer planting event at the Arverne East Nature Preserve. We will be planting a number of trees and shrubs to help beautify the new coastal park, and add wildlife habitat in honor and memory of local NYC native landscape gardener Cindy Goulder.

We will provide gloves and tools. The nature center building has public bathrooms and drinking water access to refill your bottle. Bring your own water, and dress for the weather and working in sandy soil. Event will take place rain or shine unless there a significant thunderstorm/heavy rain warning for the day.

Free Parking lot available at the nature center building. For public transit take the A-train to the station at Beach 44th street using the Far Rockaway Bound train. Make sure you are not on the Rockaway Park Bound A-train which stops at Beach 116th as the last stop. You can also use the Q22 bus but it runs very slow.

Can't attend but want to become a member? Click here to read about membership benefits and how to join!
