​The American Littoral Society's Fish Tagging Program is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Fish-Trak, a free and innovative fish tagging and tracking app. This collaboration will revolutionize how our members record and track their tagged fish, bringing cutting-edge technology to our decades of conservation expertise.

"The Littoral Society has long been a leader in marine conservation, with nearly 1 million fish tagged through its program since 1965," said Emily McGuckin, Fish Tagging Program Director. "This partnership marks a significant leap forward in combining decades of conservation expertise with cutting-edge technology."

What's Changing?
Fish-Trak will streamline the process of fish tagging by allowing our tagging members to digitally log their tagged fish immediately after release, bypassing paper forms or delayed data entry! Beyond that, with the app, you'll have access to:

• A Personal Catch Ledger: View all your tagged fish in one convenient location.
• Interactive Mapping: See your catches plotted on a map alongside other taggers' catches in the area, providing valuable insights into fish movement and distribution.
• Instant Recapture Notifications: Receive immediate alerts if one of your tagged fish is recaught, allowing you to track its journey and contribute crucial recapture data.

A Powerful Partnership for Conservation:
The American Littoral Society, home to the nation’s largest volunteer saltwater fish tagging initiative, and Fish-Trak are joining forces to empower our taggers and enhance the quality of data available to researchers and conservationists.

Fish-Trak simplifies data entry for anglers, making participation in our program easier than ever. This, in turn, strengthens our data collection efforts, providing more robust information for scientists working to protect our marine ecosystems.
