About DanielleDanielle McCulloch serves as the Executive Director of the American Littoral Society. With nearly 20 years of coastal conservation experience, she has led large-scale habitat enhancement projects and cross-sector partnerships that benefit coastal ecosystems and communities. Danielle began her career at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, advancing research on oyster reefs, living shorelines, and fisheries management, and earned a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, studying fish communities on restored oyster reefs. Following Hurricane Sandy, she monitored and managed coastal resilience projects that benefit fish, marsh and shorebirds and coastal communities, with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in New Jersey. Twice honored with the Service’s Strategic Conservation Award, Danielle is recognized for her leadership in advancing nature-based solutions, improving policy and permitting pathways for ecological work, and facilitating collaborative approaches to coastal resilience. She serves on the Board of Directors for Restore America’s Estuaries and the New Jersey Coastal Resilience Collaborative. When she’s not caring for our coasts, she enjoys the gems of the Jersey Shore with friends, time with her family, traveling, and SCUBA diving with her husband, and woodsy walks with her faithful canine.
