Join the American Littoral Society to discover the beauty of the Delaware River as it flows through your own community! Working with artist & scientist Akilah Chatman, participants will photograph and collage their favorite sites along the river during a 3-workshop series hosted at the Camden Library Downtown Branch on the Rutgers Camden Campus. Transportation to photography sites along the river and all art supplies are provided! Cameras are NOT provided. Use of personal cell phone cameras encouraged.
Participants that complete the 3 workshop series will be compensated for their time and talents with a small stipend. Attendance at all 3 workshops is required to receive a stipend. Workshop Dates and Times: Week 1: Get Inspired Thursday August 8, 5:30 - 8:30 PM See examples of photo collages, learn tips and tricks to taking impactful cell phone photos, then visit sites along the Delaware River to take photographs. Week 2: Create Thursday August 15, 5:30 - 7:45 PM Work with our experienced artist to collage, stitch and create pieces of art from your photos and show your community's connection to the River through your eyes. Week 3: Share Your Stories Thursday August 29, 5:30 - 7:45 PM Finish up and share with the group. Artwork will be displayed at public events throughout the community.
