11am - 1pm Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center 175 Cross Bay Blvd, Broad Channel, NY [map directions] Free for Littoral Society Members $10 for Non-members Join Don Riepe, the Littoral Society's Jamaica Bay Guardian, for a digital slide program followed by a walk around the refuge to look for herons, ibis, osprey, as well as many other winter and spring birds. Kids welcome. This walk is in partnership with NYC Bird Alliance. Note on Public transit: Please be aware that the A-train is only making stops to Rockaway Blvd and will not be running stops the rest of the way to Broad Channel/the Rockaways until May 2025. Shuttle Buses will be available to take you the rest of the way South to Broad Channel station. You can also use the Southbound Q52 SBS and Q53 SBS to take you directly to the dedicated Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge bus stop.
