About EmmaEmma Melvin started with American Littoral Society in May of 2016 as the Delaware Bayshore Program Director.
She is working with the Delaware Bayshore office team on conservation and restoration projects throughout the Delaware Bayshore area. She has an in-depth understanding of watershed and environmental issues facing the area and hands on skills to tackle these problems. |
GreeningEmma has implemented countless rain gardens, riparian corridors, and community forests. She's replaced impervious surfaces with porous pavement to improve stormwater inflitration. She has built and installed rain barrels and trained at-risk youth in green landscaping practices.

World TravelerBesides spending a year abroad in Ireland, among others, she has hiked the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, kayaked in Costa Rica, gone spelunking in Brazil, backpacked Europe.

Spare TimeIn her spare time, Emma enjoys gardening at her south Jersey home, hiking in NJ and PA, and hanging out with her daughter, dog and husband. In 2014, she went in search of big foot when she hiked the Batona Trail through the Pinelands.
