Fall Morning Warbler & Shorebird Walk at Sandy Hook!
Wednesday, September 9, 2026 7:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Meet at Lot M Lot M, N Bragg Rd, Sandy Hook, NJ 07732 Member - $15 per participant Nonmember - $25 per participant Discover the birds of Sandy Hook! Join the American Littoral Society's expert birder, Dan Burgoyne, for a morning of birding at the northern end of Sandy Hook! During the fall migration, Sandy Hook acts as a pivotal stopoff for various species of songbirds and shorebirds before reaching their wintering grounds in Central & South America. We will explore maritime forests and tidal flats in search of fall migrants such as black-bellied plovers, semipalmated sandpipers, and various species of warblers! Perfect for birders of all experience levels! Meet at 7:00 a.m. at Lot M Walking Distance: 1.7 miles round trip, dense sandy terrain Contact: [email protected] Please bring binoculars, sunscreen, bug spray, a water bottle, snacks, and appropriate footwear or hiking shoes for dense sandy terrain. - Weather & Cancellation Programs may be canceled for safety due to hazardous weather.
