Jamaica Bay
Horseshoe Crab Festival
June 4

Jamaica Bay Horseshoe Crab festival
Saturday, June 4
(
rain date Sunday June 5)
11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center
175-10 Cross Bay Blvd
Queens, NY
Free, Donation Appreciated

Meet at the refuge visitor center for a special event – the 6th annual Jamaica Bay Horseshoe Crab Festival, which celebrates the ancient mating ritual of these charismatic "living dinosaurs".

Attendees will meet at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge visitor center, where the event will begin with a few activities.  Then we will head down to visit the shoreline at the American Ballfield beach (W. 22nd Street) and meet the ancient crabs in person.

Kids are welcome. We encourage you to ride-share or take local public transportation down to the beach.

This is a partnership program with NYC Audubon, the National Park Service, Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy, and the American Littoral Society. If you need additional info or guidance on transit and where to meet, please email don@littoralsociety.org.

Can't attend but want to become a member? Click here to read about membership benefits and how to join!
