The American Littoral Society’s Fish Tagging Program is excited to announce our new interactive maps showing our program’s tag and recapture data for the past 60 years. We will release new maps showing tagging and recapture data for our most tagged species every two weeks.
The first map will display the total count of each species tagged by zone since the program's inception. Users can further drill down to view more recent counts from the last five years, with additional filtering options for winter, spring, summer, and fall for all years and the past five years. The second map will show both the total count of each species tagged by zone and the total count of recaptures by zone since the program began.
We plan to release these maps on a bi-weekly schedule into the fall, covering the most tagged species:
Thumbnails of the maps will be provided below. Simply click on a map thumbnail to open it in our secure ArcGIS Online Mapping environment. Here, you can turn layers on and off, select specific points within regions, zoom in and out, and compare various attributes.
As we develop this part of our program, we will continue to deliver new and exciting maps from one of the largest and most successful tagging programs in the world. We hope you enjoy the results!
