August is the perfect time to explore the diversity of New York City’s shorebirds! Festival attendees will have the opportunity to spot and learn about the scores of shorebird species and their natural habitat of the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, filled with marshland, fresh and brackish water ponds, and grassy fields.
Meet at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center in Broad Channel, Queens, NYC. Visit the east and west ponds to view shorebirds as they migrate southward. Free. Kids welcome.
