2pm - 4pm Saltmarsh Nature Center 3301 Avenue U Brooklyn, NY Free Join Rehabilitator Bobby Horvath and naturalist Don Riepe for a live raptor session with many species of hawks and owls. Meet at the Salt Marsh Nature Center to learn about the hawks and owls of Jamaica Bay. See some of these amazing raptors during a live demonstration, and go on walks with experts to get a look at hawk species flying south for the winter. While this event is free, donations to support this festival would be appreciated. Kids are welcome. This festival is presented by the American Littoral Society, with NYC Bird Alliance, Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy, NYC Parks and the Marine Park Alliance. Support provided by the Fund for the City of New York and the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy. Meet on the outdoor patio overlook behind the Salt Marsh Nature Center Building on Avenue U.
