​Horseshoe Crab Festival

Meet at Broad Channel American Park's parking lot and drive to a local beach to view ancient horseshoe crabs as they come ashore to lay their eggs. Learn about their behavior, biology, medical value, and ecological importance to shorebirds and other marine species. Talks and other programs after the walk.

How to get there:
  • Use these GPS coordinates in your maps app: 40.597321, -73.822144
  • The Park has parking for those coming by car (please be aware: Space may be limited - we encourage you carpool or opt to take public transit).
  • For those coming by public transportation: The Q-53-SBS Bus or the Q-52-SBS Bus stops about four blocks from the park entrance on Crossbay Blvd.
  • You can also take the Rockaway/JFK-Bound A-train and get off at Broad Channel station then walk about 15 blocks south.
