Montauk Winter Weekend

Visit Fabulous Montauk - January 9-11, 2026

Experience Montauk’s natural beauty during the peaceful winter season. Enjoy guided hikes along the bluffs, Walking Dunes, Hither Woods, and beaches while spotting a variety of waterfowl at the peak of birding season at Montauk Point. We’ll also visit the local seal haul-out area.​ The trip will be led by Mike Bottini, Wing Kong, Don Riepe 

Cost is $695/person and includes 2 nights at the luxurious Manor House, 5 meals, 5 guided hikes, and 2 evening programs. Check in to the Montauk Manor on Friday afternoon is anytime after Noon. Please call Don when you arrive.

For Drivers: The Montauk Manor has two dedicated parking lots for those who are staying at the Manor. 

For Commuters: Please add in the notes line of your registration if you are planning to commute to Montauk. You can take the LIRR from Manhattan in Penn Station or at Grand Central Station or from Jamaica Station in Queens straight to Montauk station (train schedule). Once you arrive, you can get picked up from the station directly to the Montauk Manor by using their dedicated shuttle bus service. The Montauk Manor shuttle bus can take you into town and back at any time. Just call ahead to the front desk: 631-668-4400.
Trip itinerary:
Friday, January 9: Arrival & Shadmoor Bluffs
  • Early Afternoon: Arrival at The Manor House (Check-in at your leisure anytime after noon).
  • 3 PM – 5 PM: Guided Hike: Shadmoor State Park (Van transportation provided from The Manor).
  • 5 PM – 9 PM: Dinner on Own (The Manor House has a nice restaurant on premises).
  • 9 PM – 10 PM: Orientation & Evening Program (Slide presentation on Montauk. Star watch session if skies are clear)

Saturday, January 10: Dunes, Bluffs, and Woods
  • 7:30 AM – 9 AM: Breakfast at Manor House (Included in trip fee).
  • 9:15 AM – Noon: Guided Hike: Walking Dunes or Montauk Lighthouse & Bluffs (Focus on coastal scenery and early birding).
  • 12:30 PM – 2 PM: Lunch at Manor House (Included in trip fee).
  • 2 PM – 5 PM: Guided Hike: Hither Woods or Accabonac Harbor (Exploration of unique inland and bay habitats).
  • 5 PM – 8:30 PM: Dinner on Own (Enjoy local dining options in Montauk).
  • 8:30 PM – 9:30 PM: Evening Program (Informative session at The Manor. Star watch afterward, if clear).

Sunday, January 11: Seals & Departure
  • 7:30 AM – 9 AM: Breakfast (Included in trip fee).
  • 9:15 AM – Noon: Guided Hike: Seal Haul-out Area (Peak winter wildlife viewing opportunity).
  • 12:30 PM – 2 PM: Lunch (Included in trip fee).
  • 2 PM – 3:30 PM: Optional Hike: Montauk Beach (A final chance for birding and seaside exploration).
  • After 3:30 PM: Departure (Van transport to LIRR available upon request).
