SeaQuest

​Discover SeaQuest: A Journey That Connects Students to The Ocean Through Education​

About SeaQuest 

SeaQuest is a hands-on classroom program that connects middle school students from vulnerable coastal communities to their local marine environment. Through field-based learning, students explore marine biology, ecology, and coastal science while discovering potential environmental career pathways. The program deepens understanding of coastal ecosystems and highlights the coast as part of students’ heritage, community, and responsibility.

  • Watersheds
  • Fish Anatomy
  • Horseshoe Crabs
  • Water Quality & Ocean Acidification
  • Mollusks of the Jersey Shore
  • And many more, customized to your curriculum
Field Experiences

Students apply what they learn through outdoor investigations such as:
  • Seining (catch & release)
  • Kayaking,
  • Dune grass planting
  • Plant walks
  • Seashell scavenger hunts
  • Fishing
  • Aquarium
  • And other coastal exploration activities!
Grade Level
  • Designed for middle school students 

Schedule
  • Offered in Fall or Spring
  • Meets once per week
  • 6 - 12 week sessions

We currently travel to schools in Monmouth, Camden, and Cumberland Counties, NJ.
