About ZackZack Royle works as a Habitat Restoration Project Manager working from the American Littoral Society's Sandy Hook, NJ office. His work at the Society involves assisting with the management of grants, fish monitoring, living shorelines, educational outreach, and permitting.
Prior to joining the American Littoral Society, Zack worked for seven years in the private sector as an environmental consultant, gaining experience in wetland delineations, as well as species and habitat monitoring. Zack holds a Master of Science in Biology from Georgian Court University and teaches part-time in the agriculture department at Rowan College South Jersey. |
HobbiesIn my spare time, I enjoy boxing, reading, and spending time with my family. My favorite authors are Michael Crichton and Steven King. I also like learning and practicing primitive wilderness survival skills and identifying edible plants. I'm a sucker for any BBQ show on TV.

Research InterestsFor my Master's thesis, I studied American black bear and raccoon presence in the NJ Pine Barrens.
I am interested in animal behavior, particularly animal cognition and emotion with a focus on improving animal welfare. |
