Join the American Littoral Society and Anglers for Offshore Wind Power for a dynamic night of interaction as we bring together New Jersey’s recreational fishing interests with fisheries liaisons from several current wind developers working in the New Jersey offshore area.

Representatives from the following wind developers are expected: Equinor, Orsted, EDF Renewables, and Shell.

The discussion will focus on offshore wind development issues of importance to the New Jersey recreational fishing community. Conversation topics will include:

• Fishing access at turbines
• Stakeholder engagement and public input
• Science and data needs
• Responsible project siting and cumulative impact concerns
• Protection of Prime Fishing Areas, including shipwrecks and reefs
• Marine mammals and birds​
  

Wind Developers will also be prepared to discuss:

Assigned lease areas off NJ with siting descriptions; EMF impacts; Transmission lines and cable landings; Experiences with fishing communities overseas; How companies will mitigate effects on wildlife; Limitations to boaters during construction; American jobs and supply chain; and
homeland security issues.

This event will include a live, hands-on station for viewing offshore areas on the Mid-Atlantic Ocean Data Portal, to show how you can use this resource to aid in your public review of various projects.

Light refreshments will be served. The event is free but participants must register to attend no later than March 1.
